Take part in the legendary RPG multiplayer battle of the Dragon Champions against demon warriors and the mysterious Reflections. Recruit warriors and lead an action squad of fantastic heroes to battle and determine the fate of the war in the world of Korador using the best combat strategy. Humans, orcs, elves, pandas, goblins, beastmen, dwarves, halfpigs or demon warriors are some of the warlords to choose from to create the most powerful squad! Assemble and upgrade your epic team and save the medieval world of Korador, become the strongest champion in the Arena, and learn the secret of the immortal dragon protectors in this role-playing quest.

The myth tells us the story of the Ancient Gods, describing how they exterminated each other and left this world to the dragons as their heirs. The dragons swore to protect the races of Korador from conflict, thereby becoming the protectors of the races. Centuries passed, and dragons eventually stopped meddling in mortal fights. Now, orcs and humans are waging an endless war, elves and goblins are all-time enemies, while pandas and the beastmen hide in their faraway lands. That's when an army of demons invades the world, an army of halfpigs marches up to the walls of the dwarven Stone Fortress, and the mythical dragons return. Become a part of this dragon legend RPG simulator! Prepare your best military tactics to defend yourself and defeat your enemy warriors in the Arena!

One of the better team RPG games

Read one review that said the framing is less of a grind, as drops are frequent. Absolutely true, have been playing about a month, and make progress in the game everyday. The campaigns, tower, arenas, tournaments, just to name a few of the daily challenges, combine to keep the game fresh and moving. Great Game! A few days later, and forgot to mention how many new wrinkles are out into tournaments and arenas, there is new content daily and once you learn how to farm, upgrading champions is fast and can still be enjoyable. 45 days in now, and the best thing, can advance quickly without spending lots of money. Yes, there are many offers to buy your way, but it is not like most games that you get to a point where if you don't pay, you can't continue to advance.

An Uncertain Future for FTP

I have played this game for one month; currently level 58. This game launched at a time where people were tired of games like SWGOH or Marvel Strike Force for various reasons. A surge of players came in for the first 6 weeks. Many players were eager to spend money to secure their spot at the top. These whales convinced the devs to release more packs of ability scrolls which is the current bottleneck; where FTP players can keep somewhat of a pace with PTP players. Many ability scroll packs have flooded the game and can only be purchased with real life currency and not in game “dracoins” giving FTP players no chance to compete with PTP players. World chat has gone silent where only a handful of new players look for guilds. The discord channel “looking for guild” tab seems to be more higher level characters looking for good guilds since theirs disbanded. There has also been a real slow down of youtuber’s content. I believe the devs give the players anything they want when, in certain areas like the bottleneck, they should say no. When FTP players drop out, it quickly becomes PTP or stay at the bottom with no chance to be competitive. I really like the game but I fear with the lack of new players and a large group of PTP players, FTP players are soon to be pushed out early in the development of a game that currently lacks content and name recognition. Still love the game and will continue to play unless the gap between FTP and PTP grows too wide.

First impressions matter

I have a personal rule when starting a game: if the game has a tutorial that takes away 100% of player choice for basic mechanics that every other game of the genre has, I quit. It’s one thing to hold your hand in a tutorial. It’s another thing entirely for the tutorial to grab you by the throat and physically drag you through the game. That’s what this tutorial felt like.

Now, I’m usually kinda lenient about this rule, willing to wait a bit to see if the tutorial ends relatively quickly so I’m not completely frustrated by missing the entire first chapter of the game for the same tutorial done to death. Dragon Champions’ tutorial is not that merciful. I don’t know the story or even the mechanics of the game because I was constantly pressing skip or rapidly following the arrow so I could get to the point where I could ACTUALLY PLAY. But the tutorial just kept going and going and I lost patience.

Maybe the story of this game is really good. Maybe the game becomes super fun later and I’m missing out. Maybe this game is the single most complex and innovative game to ever exist. But I will never know because after what feels like forever of only following the arrow on the screen, I still haven’t gotten to the part where I’m allowed to play the game.
